Berry Medical has been partnering with independent doctors in the delivery of their services to their patients in the Berry Community for over 28 years. The practice has a group of doctors that each brings their own expertise and skills. Modern general practice involves working with nurses, receptionists, allied health professionals and local hospitals. The practice employs nurses who are highly skilled and involved with your care from the acute emergency to managing chronic diseases.
DR NEIL DONOVAN – MBBS (Hons Syd), Dip. Paed., DRACOG, FRACGP
Dr Neil Donovan completed his medical degree at Sydney University and has since completed further diplomas in paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, and skin cancer. He has been admitted to the Fellowship of General Practitioners and is involved in training medical students, registrars and research in general practice. Dr Donovan can provide comprehensive health checks, and runs a weekly clinic for minor operations. He has been involved over many years with the hospital service; specifically sexual assaults, obstetrics and accident and emergency. He has maintained his skills in acute medicine and undertakes locum work in rural and remote placements. His other interests include family, fitness and trying to be outdoors as much as possible. DR INGRID BUCHNER – Dr.Med. (Ger.), Dip.Paed., FRACGP
Dr Ingrid Buchner was born in Munich, Germany, where she completed her medical studies and started her medical career in anaesthetics, intensive care and emergency medicine. After moving to Australia with her family in 1998 she completed her training in general practice and was awarded the Fellowship of General Practitioners (FRACGP). She undertook further postgraduate training in paediatrics at the Sydney Children`s Hospital in Randwick and completed a course in skin cancer management in primary care and provides regular skin checks and minor procedures list. She is involved with medical student and registrar training and outside work enjoys reading, family life and spending time being active in the great Australian climate, without getting sunburnt. DR ELIZABETH ROBERTSON-CUNINGHAME- B Med. (Hons)
Dr Elizabeth Robertson-Cuninghame (Liz) began her training as a GP 30 years ago and says she has been learning from her patients ever since. A graduate of Newcastle University, she worked in Sydney and Tumut before moving with her family to the Shoalhaven in 1998. Soon after she began work at Berry Medical Centre and really enjoys being part of this growing, vibrant medical practice. Dr Elizabeth Robertson- Cuninghame operates her own medical services business at Berry Medical ABN 94063835062. She is also a Senior Visiting Medical Officer with Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District and works as a GP at Crossroads Youth Health and Links House Sexual Assault Service. Her areas of interest and expertise include adolescent, women’s and mental health. In the last few years she has also enjoyed collaborating with adult and adolescent psychiatrists to provide telepsychiatry at Berry Medical Centre. DR LUCIE STANFORD – B. Med (Hons.) FRACGP
Dr Lucie Stanford is an experienced GP and medical educator, with a special interest in paediatrics, women’s health and mental health. Dr Lucie Stanford operates her own medical services business at Berry Medical ABN 99407570740 and is here each Friday. Lucie also works for the general practice training program, teaching other doctors who are training to become GPs. When she’s not at work, Lucie can probably be found in her garden, hanging out with her family or at the gym.
DR JOHN THOMSON – MBBS, FRACGP
Dr John Thomson studied medicine at Sydney University and enjoys the wide variety of general practice while having a specialist interest in palliative care, sharing the on call roster for the Karinya Palliative Care Unit at David Berry Hospital. He regularly hosts medical students from the University of Wollongong at Berry Medical Centre. Dr John Thomson operates his own medical services business at Berry Medical ABN 29454938702.

DR JESSICA WILSON – BSC(Hons), MBBS FRACGP, Dip Child Health
Dr Jessica Wilson has now been at Berry Medical Centre for over a decade. She completed a Bachelor of Health and Sports Science at UNSW and worked as a personal trainer whilst studying Medicine at Sydney University. She completed her Diploma of Children’s Health through The Children’s Hospital Westmead during her residency at John Hunter Hospital and went on to complete her Fellowship of General Practice in Newcastle. During this training she completed her FPAA Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health and worked for 6 months at Family Planning Australia. She is a member of the Australian Menopause Society and International Menopause Society.
Dr Jess also enjoys working with the RACGP to educate and examine the next generation of Specialist GPs. When not at work she is busy juggling mum-life with three young children and loves it!
As evidenced by her postgraduate qualifications, affiliations and experience, Dr Jess is a Specialist General Practitioner with an avid interest in women’s and children’s health. In order to provide the absolute best health care for women’s health needs longer consultations are often required. For adult women’s health consultations, for example PCOS, PMS/PMDD, peri/menopause, the following fee structure may be charged from June 2025:
Discount fee for concession card holders is $20 less at each level. These rates are based on comparison with other specialist GPs with equivalent training, expertise and affiliations. Telehealth follow-up consultations are charged accordingly.

DR SARA BIALCZYK – BHSc (Hons), MBBS, FRACGP
Dr Sara has returned from Maternity Leave!
Dr Sara grew up in Canada, where she completed a degree in Health Sciences and worked as a tennis coach before moving to Australia to study Medicine at the University of Wollongong.
She has a special interest in Women’s Health (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) as well as Paediatrics, having spent extra time doing hospital work in both disciplines.
She is passionate about providing care across all stages of a woman’s life, including contraception, fertility and pregnancy planning, antenatal care, menstrual concerns, and menopause. Dr Sara holds a FPAA Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health and provides the full range of contraceptive options (including the Implanon/Mirena/Kyleena/Copper IUD insertion – all with local anaesthetic options). She is a member of the Australian Menopause Society and enjoys supporting women through perimenopause and menopause with an evidence-based, individualised approach.
Even though Dr Sara does a lot of Women’s + Children’s Health, she enjoys all aspects of medicine (from paediatrics to geriatrics) with special attention to preventative medicine and metabolic health. Dr Sara particularly enjoys building long-term relationships with patients, taking the time to understand the bigger picture, and working collaboratively to develop practical and achievable health goals. Her approach is holistic, evidence-based and tailored to each individual patient, thus often run for approximately 30minutes.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Sara is a Medical Educator with the RACGP, helping to train and support future GPs.
When not at work, Dr Sara enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing tennis, surfing, camping and exploring the beautiful South Coast.

DR HARRY EGAN – B. Med MD FRACGP
Dr Harry Egan grew up on the Central Coast of NSW and completed his medical training at the University of New South Wales. He has a wide range of hospital experience working in a range of locations including the Central Coast, Port Macquarie, Griffith and inner Sydney.
He has particular experience in Emergency Medicine including paediatrics, and in adult medicine. Harry is passionate about getting to know people and providing high quality patient centred care. He has a particular interest in skin. Harry was drawn to general practice by the ability to provide holistic, continuous care throughout people’s lives.
Harry has enjoyed making the Shoalhaven region his home and outside of work enjoys surfing, playing sport and music.

DR PETER ERDMANN – MBBS (Hons.)
Dr Peter Erdmann completed his medical degree at Wollongong University in 2010. He has had a range of experience in medicine since then, including GP, anaesthetics/ICU and – for the last year, palliative care.
Peter also worked as a ship’s medical officer for 2 years from 2018-2020.
Working locally as part of his hospital and community roles for palliative care, Peter has had the opportunity to get to know the Shoalhaven region well.
In his free time, Peter enjoys swimming and playing games with family and friends.
Peter is available for appointments 4 days a week.
PRACTICE NURSES
Our Registered Nurses offer a broad range of services; triaging emergencies, immunisations, assisting with procedures, wound management, womens wellness, better health clinics, diabetes management, IV infusions, life coaching and achieving better health outcome for our patients. They conduct a regular INR clinic every weekday morning. Our nurses provide a valued role in your care and have special interests in both clinical and lifestyle care. Appointments are available every week day to see one of our nurses.
RECEPTIONISTS
Our receptionists have a vital role in our practice and are your first point in contact. They are the smiling faces at our front desk and are always here to assist you in any way they can. Our receptionists have years of experience in general practice and look forward to supporting any need you may have.
